Amelia Craver Special Lecture

Thanks to the leadership and generosity of Amelia Craver, Genetic Counseling Class of 1988, the Genetic Counseling Program launched a special Challenge Grant Campaign in 2013. Amelia contributed $25,000 to match dollar-for-dollar donations received from alumni and friends of the Genetic Counseling Program and donations from local, statewide, and national organizations. The 2013 Challenge Grant stimulated over $75,000 in contributions and created the official Genetic Counseling Endowment.

As a tribute to her vision for the future, the Program has created the Amelia Craver Special Lecture in Genetic Counseling. Each year, our students, faculty and friends of the Program will benefit from a special speaker to broaden our perspectives on genetic counseling.

We look forward to the 2016 Fall Symposium when Uri Tabori, MD of the University of Toronto will present TWO special lectures, “The Yin and Yang of Cancer Genetics: Pediatric Cancer Predisposition in the Genomics Era” and “Biallelic Mismatch Repair Deficiency Syndrome: Exploiting Hypermutations to Save Lives”. Please make plans to join us!

Thank you, Missy, for your investment in the education of genetic counselors!!
